Head Lad
Michael Jordan our head lad has been with us for the past six years and his sheer love for horses means the only problem we have is getting him to go home!!! Mick spent his earlier years working for Nicky Henderson and we are blest to have such a kind and experienced person running our yard. Thanks Mick.
Head Girl
Charlotte Best has progressed immensely since joining us from Philip Hobbs yard in the UK where she gained valuable experience to complement the skills she had already acquired from her parents who run a busy livery yard. Charlotte has taken on many responsibilities in the yard and is a huge asset to both Philip and Mick.
Jockeys
Shane Jackson rides out with us on a part time basis along with Declan Bates. Declan is here as a conditional Jockey. Each one of them brings their experiences from the racecourse to the yard. We use a variety of Jockeys on the track including Ruby Walsh, Paul Townend and David Russell to name just a few.
Head Travelling Girl
Roseanna Lawlor makes sure our horses are looking their best as well as travelling with our horses to the races.
Yard Staff
Jimmy Winterbotham takes charge of our yard and makes sure everything is in working order. Jimmy also plays a large role in the breaking and schooling of our young horses.
Other members of staff include Estelle Kavanagh and Stephan Laird who assists Mick with daily duties. Some of our newest members of staff include Dean Sinnott and Noel O Driscoll both of whom are very capable lads and we are delighted to welcome them here at Fairwood Stables. Other members of staff include James Walshe who rides out with us on a part time basis, James is also an amateur jockey and can be seen out on the point to point field on a regular basis.
Tara Byrne has ridden out with us since a very young age unfortunately for us Tara choose a different career path although she still comes back to visit from time to time.
This is a great bunch of lads here at Fairwood Stables and without all their hard work and pride in what they do; none of our success would be possible. Thanks Lads.
