Thursday

Check in with Mick first thing before heading out to the gallop with the entries book. It is very peaceful out at the gallop and so allowing me to assess the horses and write up the entries for the coming week without any interruptions.

Leave for Clonmel at 10.30 Rosie has the horses loaded. Discover that the air is not working in the driver’s chair of the lorry, not the most comfortable journey but none the less, we arrive in plenty of time.  The ground is very deep and holding and I know that Jacks Island will not appreciate anything less than yielding. Spring Wine finishes 4th we are happy with his performance. Jacks Island finishes 7th and as I expected he did not handle the ground.

We get home at 6.30pm and I have organised to bring the lorry for a service, this will allow me to have it back for the weekend. I have a busy day ahead and lots of catching up to do having been away at the Races.
