We had a good fall of snow here last night and this morning, there is a fair chill in the air. I had John out harrowing the gallop last night, and really hope we are not facing too many more nights of sub zero conditions although it feels as if there is more snow in the air. Planning a few yard improvements over the next week, may have to postpone if the ground continues to freeze.
Head out to the gallop to get an eye on one or two of the horses I missed yesterday, they all look in good form. The morning got a lot more exciting when a good owner of mine flew down to pick me up. We travelled up to Warren Ewing’s in the North where we viewed a lovely bunch of young horses, from there we travelled down to Micheal Murphy’s in Duncormick, Co. Wexford to view another great bunch of three & four year olds, all of whom can be viewed on line at http://www.redbridgestables.com. We had a great fish supper in Kehoe’s pup before heading home just in time to see Mick off for the evening.
Had a look at my runners for the weekend and I am hoping that Paddy O Dea gives a good account of himself tomorrow in Fairyhouse, although it is his first time over two and half miles, I Hope he appreciates the step up in trip. Tally Em Up runs on Sunday, she will gain more experience from this run over Fences and we may travel to Cheltenham with her for the Jewsons Novice Handicap Chase, all going well.
