Well, it has been a busy couple of days for all at Fairwood Stables with runners in both Cork and Fairyhouse over the Easter weekend.
We were delighted with Rathlin's run in the Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse on Monday when he finished a strong 2nd to Prima Vista, in spite of having made a blunder at the last hurdle. We are very much looking forward to him running in Punchestown next week. We were disappointed however with Prima Facia's performance in the Bumper at Fairyhouse on Sunday. It was a big ask for the horse and in the end the occasion got the better of him. Hopefully though he will have learned alot from the experience.
As the ground has been good/good to firm over the past week or so, quite a few of our horses which were entered to run, did not run as a result. This may also be the situation for some of this weeks runners, so, we will be eagerly waiting to see what the weather brings later on in the week. On this topic also, Philip was delighted with the management of the ground conditions at Fairyhouse racecourse on Sunday and Monday and, as he is transit to Fairyhouse at the moment with Cara Court to run in the Sales Bumper, we hope that all conditions will be just as good today.
Well done also to Mayo Mystique who won the Maiden Hurdle at Wexford on the 15th under DJ Bates. We were very pleased with her performance.
All that is left to be said for the moment is that we are very much looking forward to Punchestown next week and hopefully, with a little bit of luck and alot of hard work, we will have some more good performances to report on.
